Guidelines For Food


Submission of Online Application for Registration / License

1.Application should be submitted to the State Authority/Regional Office of Food Safety and Standards of India, within fifteen days from the date of submission of application online. (i.e.) If date of submission of application online is 18th May 2011, then the last date of submission of application along with fee and supportive documents is on or before 2nd June 2011.
2. Print out of Online Application Form is mandatory as part of the application submitted. Your application will not be accepted and processed without the Online Application Form.
3. For fees and supportive documents required to be submitted as part of the application, please refer to Fee structure and Documents Checklist links provided at login page.
(Note : This fascillity is availabel for Mumbai and Thane District only)


Submission of Application For Registration/License Manually

Manual Application are available in all District Offices.
Fill up either application A or B attach require documents.
Submit the application file along with necessary fee either cash/DD to concerned office in timing prescribed by that Office.
Obtain receipt and wait for Further Communication or License or Registration certificate.

How to Apply for License/Registration Online


1. For License:

FBO's are required to have a valid and active personal e-mail ID and Mobile Number


2. For Registration:

FBO's are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID OR Mobile Number
3. The name of the FBO should be spelt correctly and in bold letters in the application
4. As per the successful submission of application, the system will generate a unique Reference Id for the application.
5. Take a print out of the "Acknowledgment" and "Online Application Form" and pay fee online or the Demand Draft for the fee (if payment mode is Demand Draft) and supported documents (Refer Document Checklist) required along with the application and submit the application to your Designated Officer of district of Food and Drug Administration, Maharashtra for State Licenses, within 15 days from the date of submission of application online.

1. Manufacturer /Miller
i. Above 1MT per day Production or 10,001 to 50,000 LPD of milk or 501 to 2500 MT of

ii. Below 1 MT of Production or 501 to 10,000 LPD of milk or 2.5 MT to 500 MT of milk

Canteens (Schools, Colleges, Office, Institutions), Caterers, Banquet halls with food catering

The fees paid by any applicant for a license shall not be refundable under any circumstances.
Issue of Duplicate registration or License
(1) Where a registration certificate or license is lost, destroyed, torn, defaced or mutilated, the applicant may apply for a duplicate copy of the registration certificate or license during the validity period, accompanied with a fee amounting to 10% of the applicable License fee.
(2) On receipt of such an application, the Licensing Authority shall grant a duplicate copy of the registration certificate or license, as the case may be to the applicant with the word "Duplicate" appearing prominently thereon.
Mode of Payment
The payment shall be made by the Food Business Operator through Bank draft or online transfer
or treasury chalan or any other suitable means as specified by time to time.
